help recovering a PPT file (PowerPoint 2002 SP3)

I need some help. My boss was sent a powerpoint file that ended up embedded in a .txt file. Is there any way to extract the information and bring it back up in PowerPoint?

See attached file ( I had to cut out a bunch of it due to the 100K limitation).

There are base64 decoders available on the web, but I haven't tried them for anything as complex as a PowerPoint file.

See whether these tools/sites help: decode base64 - Google Search

Is there no way of contacting the sender to request for the original presentation? [Just a thought!] - <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    Hi Jefferson,

Thanks for the reply. I have spent the last couple of hours sorting through the various links that come up as part of the Google link you supplied without much success. I even tried focusing the search for decoders directly to PPT. A lot of interesting applications but none that were able to satisfy MS Powerpoint.

    Hi Rudi,

We just managed to get a hold of the individual and asked him to resend the file directly instead of forwarding from his source. This necessitated a quick tutorial on saving and attaching a file to an email. The good news is that we just received the actual PPT file and all is well.

A base64 decode should turn the stream of encoded text back into whatever it was before. At least in theory. Perhaps the stream was corrupted in this case. Good to hear you got the original file sent.
