Start Menu and Favorites (WinXP and IE7)

I am one of those people that like to have things in order. Is there a way to organize my start menu as well as my favorites alphabetically? The only way I have been able to accomplish this is by hand. The only thing good about doing it that was is I get to refresh my ABC's but quite frankly the ABC song is getting to me and my wife is threatening me with bodily injury if I sing it one more time...
I have gone into Windows Explorer and clicked the view by name, but it doesn't carry over.
    Thanks John

Have you tried right-clicking an item in Start > All Programs or in Favorites and selecting Sort by Name from the context menu?

Alternatively, you can delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVe rsionExplorerMenuOrder key in RegEdit. This will restore both the Start Menu and Favorites to the default sort order.
