IE 7 (New)

I downloaded and installed IE 7. Since then when I try to download a picture from Webshots, I get a page with the words, "This object was blocked." The same thing happens on our church site when I try to download a PDF document. Is there some switch I need to reset or something outside IE 7 that is doing this?

I might add that I have entered Webshots, our church link, into the trusted zone, etc. Still, no success.

The only problem, both IE 7 and the latest edition of FireFox will not allow me to download some PDF files, nor to download the programs that will fool XP into thinking I still have IE 6. I'm about ready to pull my hair out and buy a MAC. Wash my mouth out with soup!

This has to be some Security settings being set too high.

Have you checked the Internet Options pages to see if your security is set on High?
I would carefully go over these settings and even TEMPORARILY set them to low and try to get the files.
The files that Spoof the sites into thinking you have IE 6 are .reg files, so you would have to be careful about using them anyway. Why PDFs are being blocked might be some Adobe settings but just what I don't know.

It's pretty unusual for both IE and Fx to have the same problem and have it be the browser's fault.

Could the Adobe Reader maybe need an update?

Is there any security software running that could be intercepting the PDF before it reaches the browser? (Firewall, antivirus, antispyware, etc.)

I don't know about the web shots, but I can tell you that the files that I create in Adobe 7, sometimes by users that have an un updated version of Adobe Reader. This occurs mostly in e-mails however. So if you are having troubles with .pdf files my suggestion would be to upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader and see if that cures that. My money is on that it will.

Thanks fellows and/or gals if any replied to help. I am not sure what happened, but I uninstalled the latest programs, such as the MS Flight SimX Demo and Real. I also decided to uninstall Zone Alarm Suite. I'm not sure which one did it, but I reinstalled ZA Suite. Now all works fine. I haven't taken the time to reinstall Real, but don't use it anyway. I doubt if I will reinstall MS Flight SimX Demo either.
