Catching cut and paste and bookmark problem (2000, XP, 2003, 12)

I have some word documents containing bookmarks surrounding sections of text and we discovered that if track changes is turn on items like bookmarks do not get cut during a cut and paste operation. If track changes are turned off then the bookmarks do get cut and pasted. This bug was reported to Microsoft tech support and it is a known bug that is only shown on their internal knowledge base and there are no plans to fix it.

    The suggested work around is:
    1. If track Changes is on, turn it off.
    2. Cut the range of text that has the bookmark wrapped around it
    3. Turn Track Changes on
    4. Paste the text

Fine but cumbersome for a manual process and with hundreds of documents with text being moved around this is a problem. Our use of the bookmarks is for comparison purposes of one version of a given document type with another version of the same document type from year to year and the bookmarks are named using guids.

Is there a way to override the cut and paste event to use a customer cut and paste? Our documents have unique custom properties set in them.

To replace Word's default behavior, name your procedures with Word's names: EditCut, EditCopy, EditPaste

(That is the general rule, I haven't actually tested it!)
