Protecting section in a document (2003/Service Pack 2)

    Hello,

I'm wondering if this is possible.

Can I protect a section only in a document. In this section are form fields. The remaining section should be unprotected for the user. It is a letterhead templatee.

    Thank you
    Edy

Yes, in the Protect Document task pane, tick the check box "Allow only this type of editing in the document".
Then select "Filling in forms" from the dropdown.
Click the "Select sections..." link that appears.
Clear the check box for sections you want to be unprotected.
    Click OK.
Finally. click "Yes, Start Enforcing Protection".
Once you have done this, you can turn protection on and off using the Lock button on the Forms toolbar; Word will remember which sections should be protected.

    Thank you Hans,

It was easier than I thought. I didn't realize the section link there.

    Regards
    Edy
