    Single IP address or Dynamic?

Not sure of best place to post this so please move if necessary......I am looking to change my ISP as Im no longer satisfied with their service, the new ISP that seems the best for me (just home stuff general surfing, few downloads of software, patches, maybe few video clips) offers a single fixed IP address as oppossed to the dynamic IP address that seems more common (and what I have now), I understand what both terms mean but can anyone offer any advice as to the advantages of one over the other or what would be preferable? Thanks in advance for any info.

If you only use your internet connection for surfing the web and for e-mail, it doesn't really matter.
