# Thread: Beer Bears!

1. ## Beer Bears!

Every year at the Magic Forest University there is a beer drinking competition. The rules were very simple, the team that could drink the most beer were the winners. This year Jezza Bear and his team drank a total of 3336 glasses of beer and broke every record in the book. They all collapsed in a stupour at exactly the same time.

JB drank at a rate of 50 glasses of beer and hour and the others in the team either 37.5 or 13.5 glasses every hour.

Their drinking binge took an exact number of hours, how many?

My goodness! <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">12 hours - the team consisted of 1 JB, 5 members drinking 37.5 glasses/hour and 3 members drinking 13.5 glasses/hour, for a total of 278 glasses/hour.</span hide>

3. ## Re: Beer Bears!

I have found two answers.

In the first case he had a very big team, with <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">15</span hide> fast drinkers and <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">37</span hide> slow drinkers and they finished in <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold"> 3</span hide> hours.
In the second case the team of <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold"> 5</span hide> fast drinkers and <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold"> 3</span hide> slow drinkers must have had a lot of stamina to keep going for <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">12</span hide> hours.

I have just found another <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold"> 3</span hide> hour solution, with <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">24</span hide>fast drinkers and <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">12</span hide> slow drinkers.

Well what can I say, alternatives all over the place.

I think Hans and you can have a couple of pints of this and a [choccy bar] for afters... <img src=/S/cheers.gif border=0 alt=cheers width=30 height=16>

6. ## Re: Beer Bears!

That sounds awful, can't we have a good old fashioned pint of Winter Warmer <img src=/S/cheers.gif border=0 alt=cheers width=30 height=16>

7. ## Re: Beer Bears!

I'll probably do the Waggle Dance after all those pints.

8. ## Re: Beer Bears!

I have a bottle of Waggle Dance in the fridge. It's been there a long time as I can't bring myself to try it!

9. ## Re: Beer Bears!

You'll be surprised, I had it at a youngs pub a few years back as one of their novelty Christmas ales and it went down very well <img src=/S/yum.gif border=0 alt=yum width=15 height=15>

And end up with a bad attack of Tanglefoot <img src=/S/yum.gif border=0 alt=yum width=15 height=15>

11. ## Re: Beer Bears!

That's more for John Gray, I believe.

12. ## Re: Beer Bears!

I got a kick out of the *slogan*
<hr>Deceptivley Drinkable <hr>
but it may be more apt for a beer named 'Moose Drool' <img src=/S/tongue.gif border=0 alt=tongue width=15 height=15> Big Sky Brewing

it is, however, a very good brown ale, if I do say so myself <img src=/S/yum.gif border=0 alt=yum width=15 height=15>
