Document Recovery & Macros (Word 2003)

When Word 2003 crashes and I select to have it recover my documents, I get up a message that says "Do you want to save changes to normal.dot", and I select No. But then when it recovers my documents, it also recovers a bunch of macros. Is there a way for it to not open these macros? I am afraid this will confuse my users a lot. Thanks for any help. I'm just learning about all the new features in Word 2003 (coming from Word 97).

    - Where do these macros come from?
    - How do they open?
    - What do you do to crash Word 2003?

The macros come from the add-ins in the startup directory.
They are always running when you open Word.
I was running a macro that is one of the modules from the add-ins. Not quite sure how to explain. Hope that makes sense.

In Word 97, when you crash, the add-ins aren't recovered. That's really what we want here.

I don't think you can exclude specific items from AutoRecovery - you can only turn the entire feature on or off (in the Save tab of Tools | Options...)
