using Word as Outlook editor (Outlook 2003 (11.8010.8107) SP2)

For several years I used Word (currently Word 2003 (11.8106.8107) SP2) as the e-mail editor with Outlook 2003. However, a few months ago I could no longer use Word (on only one of my 3 pcs with this combination of Windows XP and Office 2003) as my editor, as the text would come up in approximately ) 0.1 font size (i.e., much too small to be read). This happened after one of the regular monthly updates -- again, only on this one pc.
Any thoughts as to how to fix this?
    Thanks.

That's too small. I mean, most fonts don't want to be set smaller than 4 points. In Word, the zoom setting may create the appearance of a small font; have you checked that??

The Zoom setting is 10%. However, it is grayed out, as are the font and font size boxes. I know of no way to change this when these are grayed out.

Note that Word works fine (except for the other minor file startup issue that you also responded to).

Have you reviewed the settings in Word under Tools | Options | General | Email options - all tabs?

Hmmm... I have never used Word as my mail editor, and stories like this do not encourage me to try it. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

If your Zoom control is disabled, it might indicate that Word is busy in another window. Are there any other Word windows open, and do they have any dialogs active?

Everything seems the same as usual in both the Word and Outlook options tabs.

Word is sometimes active and sometimes not (in other Windows). It has performed beautifully for me for years as the Outlook e-mail editor -- until several months ago, when this strange effect took place.
