    Multiple Sent Messages (2003)

A friend has been trying to send me a Word document as an attachment. Each time he sends it I get 20 identical messages? Furthermore, they don't come through as regular attachments that I can open. Also, the body of the email contains what looks like the document in raw binary form. He can send other Word documents OK, just this particular one causes the problem. Any clues as to what's going on here?

Maybe there is something embedded in the document (image? Visio drawing? executable?) that is causing problems for the mail server(s) relaying the message from him to you. Might I suggest ZIPping the file before sending?

Actually it was a zipped Word document that seemingly caused the problem. I had my friend send the unzipped document and it came through with no problems. I suppose this will remain a mystery.
