Capturing an Image From a DVD (XP (SP2))

    Hi

Is it possible to capture an image from a DVD-Video and save it so it can be printed? I use Windows Media Player 10 to watch DVD's but I also have Intervideo WinDVD 4.

You need a video editing program. Look at Windows XP: Movie Maker 2.1 Download.

It can be done in WMP10 by clicking on view, selecting dvd and trying from there (see attachment) but this isn't always available. You could try the simple Windows Movie Maker if you can import the bit of dvd you want. I seem to remember there is a button in the bottom right hand corner of the preview screen that is a "take picture" but again not sure how precise this is. I use Nero and that has a similar feature that allows you to take a picture and print. No doubt plenty of people who know more than me will offer better alternatives.

Screenshot zipped by HansV because it was far too wide
