    Query drops null values (2002)

I have a query based on a single table that pulls all records for which country code is not 'US.' A small number of records for which the country code is null are dropped from the results even though a null value fits the criteria of not equalling 'US.' I can get around it by adding a critieria (is not 'US' or is null) or adding a dummy country code, but was curious as to why that happened.

    Thanks.

Null is not really a value, it indicates the lack of a value, a missing value. Null doesn't satisfy any condition involving = , <>, > or <, only Is Null. So you must use something like Not Is "US" Or Is Null.
