Non-Free Internet Security Suites

Anybody notice any non-free Internet Security Suites that are currently free, or close to it, AFTER rebates.

Seemingly every Friday Fry's Electronics puts one or more security suites on sale that are free or nearly free after rebates. I view the newpaper ads here: http://newspaperads.mercurynews.com/...px?advid=32664. Sales that start Friday run through the following Tuesday.

Ayup, thar's what triggered this thread.

Outpost is offerring KIS free AFTER TWO rebates, but one requires proof of a competitor's IS program. So I was looking for a free IS that would qualify me for the full rebate.

Guess I'll have to wait for another rebate deal, perhaps, Symantec.

P.S. I was disappointed to find that the KIS user guide does not include system requirements. The requirements are listed at Kaspersky's web site.

Outpost.com incorrectly states that Win XP is required.

That's pretty typical, and Norton qualifies for all known competitive rebates.

I have AV, not IS, software.

NIS is offerred free quite often, but I've never looked at the rebate coupon(s).
Typically, Symantec accepts aNY Symantec product to qualify for an upgrade rebate.
They understand that garnering market share is more important than restricting what qualifies for an upgrade.
