    Cannot setup multiple email accounts in t/bird (1.5.0.7)

    I cannot setup multiple email accounts in thunderbird as keep getting message "Enter your password" . Yet usersname and password has been checked in the radio box for the smtp settings. When l try to enter the password , it comes up with the message "Password did not suceed'. I can setup one email account fine but only when l add another account do l get this problem.

    Without knowing more about it, it sounds like a problem between the mail server and you rather than a problem with TB. Of course, you need to be sure you've got all the other TB new account stuff set correctly, like port number (if different from the norm), does this account require a secure connection and/or authentication, etc. etc.

    The SMTP settings screens should not be involved in setting up a new mail account. There is only ONE set of SMTP settings. You cannot setup more than one outgoing ISP, at least not what it looks like you may be trying to do.

    Thanks for your response.

    I have amended it to one set of SMTP settings. All account stuff is setup correctly. Anything else you could think l could check?
