    Touchscreen (2003)

Is it possible to use Access on a touchscreen? And how would I go about it.

I have no experience with touch screens, but I assume they come with software that translates a 'touch' to a mouse click, so the only thing you'd need to do in Access is make sure that the user can do everything by touching / clicking, e.g. using command buttons on a form. The touch screen software should handle the rest.

I've established that Access can be used with the touchscreen, now I need to know how data can be entered. The database itself will be minimal with possibly just one table with fields like date, part no, description etc. Is there a way (or does anyone know of any software) of creating sort of keyboard on the screen that will enter whatever is pressed into the the selected field.

Windows XP (and probably other versions too) comes with an on-screen keyboard that can be operated by clicking / touching. The keystrokes are transmitted to the active application.

    Start | (All) Programs | Accessories | Accessibility | On-Screen Keyboard.
