    Bizaare Reports thing (2003 SP1 )

Suddenly, with no warning all reports have stopped working in my access databases.

A current database, when you in it, and click to get a report , you get an hourglass for a millisecond, then nothing.

If i create a new database, knock up a table, then try to make a report from it, i will just get an error message pop up box 'unable to create report'

Everything else in access works, tables, queries etc... just not reports...

    Anyone.. Help!

Check in the Printers control panel whether you still have a default printer. Access reports won't work without a printer.

I have a default network printer yes Hans.. and it works...

However, we did have a problem recently with the network printer.. and the office lost print capability..

    Will investigate further...

This points to a problem with the default printer. Try deleting your default printer from the Printers control panel, then adding it again. Don't forget to make it the default again.

    When i'm in the database....

and i click ,.FILE > Print....

I get nothing (on the page setup box, on the PAGE Tab, its set to default printer) ie: it will not print.

If i change this to SPECIFIC PRINTER, and select my printer, it prints.

    Update:

There are two network printers available to me, (10) and (11)... the default is usually 10, when i change it to 11, access works fine, but on 10 it doesn't.

however, printing in all other applications is fine on 10.

A couple of days ago, we had a problem with the printers, and they had to re-install some, the IT dept have somehow screwed it up i guess.

Yea, that was the first thing i tried Hans... same problem....

But at least its narrowed down to this printer, and i can get the IT bods on it.

    Many thanks Hans.
