Desktop Appearance

Is there a way to assign "no color" to the desktop? I am hoping to have just the icons and titles show on a wallpaper without the "blocks" of "desktop color" that surround the icon titles.

I know you can create a "custom" color but I see no way of making the desktop color transparent.

    Is there a registry hack?

    Thanks.

Get a small freeware app called DeskColor from e.g. my website, and put it in your Startup folder.

I use icondesk, you can find it at www.download.com It allows you to turn off that chunky background coloring that affects your icons, and allows you to 'hide' your icons when you leave your desk.

    Hope that helps!

Sorry Drk... but I can't find that at download.com. You wouldn't happen to have it zipped up somewhere would you?
