    Mail Merge Different Page 1 Header Location (XP)

    I need to perform a catalog mail merge where the first page header is located 2 inches down from the edge. The page 2 and beyond header, should there be more then one page, needs to be 1" down from the edge. Also, the content of the first page header is different from page 2+ header.

    In a normal doc I would simply add a next page section break, change the header location in section 2, turn off same as previous and add the different content.

    However when I switch the document to a catalog mail merge Word places one record per page and only uses the first page. The second page header then appears on a single page at the very end of doc. (eg. Page 32)

    When I try it with standard page breaks I am able to set a page break, turn on the different first page header option, type the content into the first page header, then type different content in the page 2+ header, exit the header/footer, delete page 2 (so Word doesn

    I'd use 'Different first page', and push the first page header down by increasing Space Before in the Format | Paragraph dialog (or by creating a separate style with the required Space Before for the first page header.
