    Report.subReport Label doesn't shrink (A2k3 SP2)

    Hi All,
    I've got a report with 11 subreports. I am using HasData to make the labels of those subreports visible/not visible. My problem is they are not shrinking when they are not visible. I've tried placing the subreports in GroupHeader1 and the Detail section using the OnFormat event for both with the same results. As far as I can tell I've got the CanGrow/CanShrink properties set on everything I need to.
    How do I design this report to make it do what I need it to do?

    Thank you.

    Wow 11 subreports...could you use tabs instead????

    Otherwise, thinking of the top of my head could you vary the height

    me.subform1.height=100 <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

    Don't use a label in the main report. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
    If you really need a label, try putting it in the subreport's report header.

    <P ID="edit" class=small>(Edited by gdrezek on 09-Nov-06 10:54. forgot the thank the Jezza Bear)</P>Thanks Jerry.
    The report is a summary of billing charges/invoices, grouped by which department we have done work for and by the email address of who receives the report/invoices. There are 5 divisions within our OIT. Each with a summary of service/labor billing charges (1 subreport) and a summary of materials billng charges (1 subreport) with the exception of my division which adds a summary of port connection charges. From the "powers that be" these must be separate summarys. These are then followed by, in separate reports, itemizing each summary. I turn these reports into .pdf files, 1 for the summary and 1 each for any of the itemized portions they may have....so if they have billings charges with us they will get a minimum of 2 .pdf's and a maximum of 4.
    The subreports themselves, when they have no data collapse nicely, however their labels don't. If this were a form, I would use tabs.....in a heartbeat.

    BAH.....another case of me looking too far away for the answer.
    Thanks Hans. That makes a lot of sense even without thinking too hard about it. <img src=/S/newbrain.gif border=0 alt=newbrain width=21 height=22>
