    Server up time

Last Sunday two of my clustered Windows Servers crashed causing a database to go off line and spent a good part of Sunday attempting to get it back on line. Various things have been identified as the cause of the crash and failed fail over.

One of the things that was identified from the Event Logs was that one of the servers had not been rebooted for 195 days!!!!

Is there a quick and easy way to identify when a server was last booted during day to day maintenance....is it in the event viewer? Just checking before I enforce a routine manual maintenance plan.

    Re: Server up time

I can recall seeing something somewhere that I am sure stated total run time, but I can't for the life of me remember where.

A couple of things maybe worth looking at:

    uptime.exe - free
    and
Uptime Software - at at undetermined price.

Have a look at BgInfo v4.0 and the rest of the Sysinternals utilities. They are a must have for anyone doing support work.

Check the server manual as I run Compaq/HP and this info is available for each under Insight Manager (System Info from the home page).

Other than that I have used BigInfo as recommended by Joe. It does an excellent job!
