    ALCXMNTR.exe

I just found I'm loading this at startup. From what I've read in various forums it's from Realtek audio but a little indeterminate as to whether it's a necessary part of your audio setup or something that reports back to Realtek what your listening to.

Is this thing spywear or part of the audio driver?

    Thanks,
    Thanks,

    Re: ALCXMNTR.exe

    from here....
"Realtek AC97 Audio - Event Monitor. "Slyware" file used surreptitiously monitor one's actions. It is not a sinister one, like remote control programs, but it is being used by Realtek to gather data about customers"

I'd rename the file to ALCXMTR.old and see if anything complains. If nothing happens in a week or two, I'd delete it. Sounds like it not something that's doing anything for you or your system. HTH <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
