    Conditional Formatting (XP)

In the attached, why is condition 1 working correctly and condition 2 not working? The two conditions work correctly in another workbook. Formulas in two workbooks are identical. Defined names are the same in both workbooks. What am I missing?

    1) The PayDate cell is blank.
    2) You have applied the second condition to cell A2 only, not to the rest.

If you enter an appropriate date in PayDate and copy the formatting from A2 to A3:A24, it should work as intended.

In addition to Hans' comments, it looks to me like there is something wrong or corrupted in the definition of PayDate. On my system, Excel thinks it is a reference to some other workbook. Try deleteing that definition and creating it again.

Strange, I just checked the original sheet and both the Paydate was included in cell A30, and formatting for both conditions was set down the column. Yet it still doesn't work.

Thank you. I did delete it and re-entered it. Now working fine. I re-entered exactly as I did before =Jan07!$A$30. Strange
