    Auto Number (2000)

I'm building a new table that will use the auto number feature to populate the keyed field. I would like to start the numbering from where the manually entered number ends on the previous version of the table so that I don't eventually replicate that number. Is there anyway this can be done?

You can use an append query to add a record with the last manually entered value to the new table, then delete the added record. The next record will continue from there.

In other words: say that the last value entered in the old table was 36.
    Create a new query.
    Don't add a table.
    Create a column

    Dummy: 36

Select Query | Append Query to change the query to an append query.
Specify the new table as target.
Specify the AutoNumber field in the Append to line.
Select Query | Run to execute the query.

Note: if the table has required fields, add columns for each to the query, with appropriate dummy values, e.g. "a" for a text field, 0 for a number field and #1/1/2000# for a date field.

Thank you, Hans! I'll give it a whirl.
