Re: how do i remove the outlook toolbar from doc (

Diana-

You seem to be missing a button from your standard toolbar. This button allows you to turn any Word document into an e-mail message, and to turn off that feature. You can add the button using Customize, and then under File, you can find the command listed as "Mail Recipient." After you add the button to the toolbar (by dragging it over to the toolbar), you can just click the button to turn off the Outlook toolbar.

This is one of those really sensible Word features, like using the Start button when you want Windows to shut down.

Go to the File menu, choose Send To > Mail Recipient

If the mail headers are already showing then this will turn them off again.

Re: how do i remove the outlook toolbar from doc (OfficeXP SP3)

Hi - thank you both for your suggestions.

ive tried both but still no luck.

Please see screen capture.

I had to manually (customise) and add the button Mail Recepient as it wasnt displayed in the list. But now its disabled/greyed out. If i click the other Mail Recipient options eg Mail Recipient (for Review) it just attaches the doc in an email.

We have Lotus Notes - would this be the reason why its not removing the Outlook toolbars?

Is there another way I can remove these bars?

many thanks diana

Does the following work?
- Activate the Visual Basic Editor (Alt+F11).
- Activate the Immediate window (Ctrl+G).
- Type the following line (or copy/paste it)

ActiveWindow.EnvelopeVisible = False

- With the insertion point anywhere in that line, press Enter.
- Switch back to Word (Alt+F11).

I guess you can't remove the e-mail envelope from this document. Try copying its contents into a new document. Hopefully the new document won't have an e-mail envelope.

Is this document protected in some special way? You could try inserting it (Insert>File...) into a blank document and see whether that strips the odd behavior.
