Mail merge dates (XP / 2003)

Hi I am doing a mail merge

The data source is in excel. The dates are formatted *14 March 2001 e.g. 12 May 2007
When we merge the date is transposed as 5 December 2007

I have tried the date merge field format but to no avail.

Also any blanks actually come out with the current time of 12:00pm instead od a blank

    Any ideas

    Regards

    Michelle

Select Tools | Options... in Word.
    Activate the General tab.
Tick the check box "Confirm conversion at Open".
    Click OK.
Now go back to step 3 of the Mail Merge Wizard (task pane).
Click the option to select a different data source.
    Browse to the Excel workbook.
When you click Open, Word will display a dialog to select a method for opening the data source.
The default is OLE DB, this one causes problems.
Select either 'Microsoft Excel Worksheet via Converter' or 'MS Excel Worksheets via DDE'.
Click OK, confirm if necessary, then continue as usual.
