    Table of Contents (XP)

I'm working on a document created by someone else, and find that Word pushes the page numbers in the table of contents out of alignment wherever I use longer headings. Splitting these headings over two lines seems to make no difference. This is probably something obvious, but can anyone tell me a way round this?

You can modify the TOC1, TOC2 etc. styles to use a right indent (Indentation > After Text) of 0.5". Leave the right-aligned tab for the page number where it is. It will now be beyond the right margin, so the page number won't be pushed out of alignment by the text any more.

Thanks very much indeed, Hans. Knowing exactly how to get around this problem is really useful.
