    New System Sounds (7)

    Crew...

As part of the automatic updates we have on our office workstations (XP Pro), Internet Explorer was upgraded to version 7. Now...it seems to be plugged into System Sounds, as when I surf or tab, I get this little "bloop" sound. I can get rid of it by turning off system sounds in the OS...but I don't want to turn off system sounds (I like to hear the boot-up jingle every morning...I'm weird, OK?) Is there any way to turn off the sounds just in Internet Explorer?

    Thanks,

Start>Control Panel>Sounds, Speech & Audio Devices>Sounds & Audio Devices>Sounds tab. Find the event you're looking for and change or remove the sound.

To amplify <!profile=DocWatson>DocWatson<!/profile>'s tip: it seems the Sounds you're looking for will be - scrolling most of the way down the ListBox - under Windows Explorer as Complete Navigation and Start Navigation. HTH

    Doc & Unk...

As usual...you guys always come through. Of those two, it was Start Navigation that had a sound listed (which is now set to "None".)

    Thanks very much,
