Popup ALT Attribute extension (Firefox 2.0)

This can be made to work in Firefox 2.0, but with a bit of pain (see the comments in this webpage and my graphic...).

Has anyone heard whether there will be an update which supports Firefox 2.0 rather better?

    Thanks

    John

Mozilla and Firefox display the TITLE attribute as the tooltip. They reserve the ALT attribute for display when the image file is not downloaded. This is very unlikely to change.

Sorry, I think I misunderstood your question. Will the extension be updated? Only the author knows for sure...

Would you care to tell me how you got Bookmark Backup updated?

And if anyone can tell me how to find *anything* by searching at the FireFox Add-ons page, I'd be delighted. Searching for 'Backup' gets zero results, and I've never been able to find what I want other than by luck...

Re: Popup ALT Attribute extension (Firefox 2.0)

I had Bookmark Backup 0.4.1 for quite some time, as I recall, but following Firefox 2 saying that it "wasn't compatible" and not reloading it, I went straight to the source website and got 0.4.2, which installs happily. It is less useful now that Firefox does a better job of backing up bookmarks, but I like the idea of having seven days' worth of bookmarks backed up, following the trauma that I had recreating them all from scratch after a hard disk failure when everything except for the bookmarks was backed up!

I asked the question about whether the Popup ALT Attribute extension was being updated in the hope that someone might have read about it on a newsgroup - there isn't anything on the Japanese author's website (that I can see!).

Pike (author of Bookmarks Backup) does not have his extensions hosted at AMO so it does not pick up any updates for it.

That explains that then, thank you!
So how does one (i.e. you!) keep track of add-on sources if the 'Check for updates' doesn't work as expected? Do you bookmark all the originating sites?

One of the extensions I use is MR Tech Local Install. It allows me to display some Firefox configuration details in the sidebar, including links to the home pages of all the extensions I have installed.

More thanks - I'll give it a blast.
