    AVG update problem

Can somebody please help this old grannie who is trying to be computer literate.
I have installed the latest AVG 7.5 version but it refuses to update. The message is 'server name cannot be converted to ip address'. I have checked the Zone Alarm to allow access with four green ticks.
    Thank you.

    Link corrected by HansV

    Hello and Welcome!

The second post in this thread suggests the problem may be to do with firewall settings. Could I suggest you look at the PDF linked there under the name "Firewall Settings for AVG" and see if it assists?

Often you get useful hits if you put the "complete message" (with double quotes to front and rear) into Google - I used as the serach string:
avg "server name cannot be converted to ip address"
to ferret out the info in the first paragraph!
