    XP loses wallpaper (XP)

I have set up my desktop to have a picture as my wallpaper, which works when I first do it, but when I restart my computer, I just get the blue background.
when I click on Properties, it still shows the picture in the dialog box, but it isn't really doing it on the main screen.
    what is going on?

    thanks

You must to copy the picture (.jpg, .gif, .bmp, or another picture file) to your hard drive, and then from Display Properties | Desktop | Browse point the background to this file.

What you did, you pointed the background to a picture file on the removable drive or on the website, which is no longer available for Windows. Now Windows remembers where the picture was, but cannot reach its location.

I remember solving this problem on one computer, but I can't for the life of me remember how!

Try copying the problem picture to C:Windows (or wherever your Windows folder is) and select it from there.

If the other solutions don't work, try saving it in "My Pictures" or "C:WINDOWSWebWallpaper"

Also, there are several "wallpaper" tweaks listed at Kelly's Korner, none of which reads like your problem, but it might be worth looking. Maybe one of 'em would give your XP a kick in the pants enough to reset the trouble.
