    step increase average (2003)

I have a column of daily data for which I would like to get the total average value for each day.
For example, if the data are in column A:
    B2 formula would be =average(A1:A2)
    B3 formula would be =average(A1:A3)
    B4 formula would be =average(A1:A4)
    B5 formula would be =average(A1:A5)
    etc.

as I am looking at 15 years of data, is there a relatively easy way to do this?
    Thanks.

In B2, enter the formula =AVERAGE(A$1:A2)
Either double click the fill handle (the little black square in the lower right corner of B2), or select B2, then shift+click on the last cell with data in column B, and press Ctrl+D to fill down.
The $ in A$1 causes the 1 to be absolute, i.e. it won't be adjusted as you fill down.
