iPod

Another iPod question. Mine was working just fine and all of a sudden it stopped "syncing" with iTunes. I've been to the iPod store and they said it is working fine. They were able to get it to sync. I've tried everything...reinstalled newest iTues software, still no sync. I've now reset it so there are no tunes on the pod. Does anyone have any idea? I've already been to iPod support site, can't find a thing.... BTW what does the iPod updater do?
thanks.

Hi Charlotte

I don't have an iPod but I would like to! If your iPod could be synced at the store perhaps it is your cable or USB port that is defective? I also found this step by step guide that may be of some help?

I don't know about iPods but in some cases, it helps to "remove" USB devices using Windows' device manager and then have them re-detected using the plug-and-play feature. I don't do this often, or ever with an iPod, so I can't advise you on step-by-step, but surely someone else can.

Referencing the information that Jefferson <!post=posted,617008>posted<!/post>, take a look at Argus' star <!post=Star Post, 475091>Star Post<!/post> regarding Troubleshooting controllers and devices (Home/Pro) which may be helpful to you!

Apple's famous for that. You don't know, you don't need to know, so now just shut up and enjoy our products, thank you that's all. I'm going to guess that they "reset" the software on the iPod itself in some fashion.

The link in Skitter's post <post:=616,742>post 616,742</post:> above were instructions to reset the software. I've never had to do this with mine (original 5GB), but its nice to know the instructions are there if I need it. The nearest Apple Store is London!
