Typing in and saving .pdf files (2000)

Don't know if this is a Word issue per se, but I am interested in how I can type text into a .pdf file and then save it. Is there any software out there that will accomplish this?
    Thanks in advance.

Is this an existing PDF file with fillable form fields, or do you want to create a PDF file from scratch? In the latter case, you can use print drivers that capture your printout and save it as a PDF. To actually save filled in forms, I think you might want to look around on the Software board for more tips.

If you have the full Adobe Acrobat product, you can edit PDF files to some extent. It is limited to changing text within one line; you cannot just enter new lines.

I use Serif PagePlus for desk-top publishing, and the latest version I have (version 11) can edit PDF files. How successful it is depends to some extent on the complexity of the PDF file, and whether you have the fonts used in it. Serif home page here .
