Read Only - part of document (Word 2002, SP3)

Is it possible to make parts of a Word document read only so that the recipient could not make any changes but leave other parts of the document so that changes could be made?

You can protect a document for forms and specify which sections will be protected. Within protected sections, users can only fill in form fields (from the Forms toolbar), all other text in such sections cannot be selected or edited. Within unprotected sections, users can edit the text freely.
Start by inserting section breaks in your document to demarcate the parts that should be read-only. You can use continuous section breaks if part of a page should be protected and another part of the same page should be unprotected.
When you move through the document, the status bar will show the section number of the current selection. Memorize or write down which sections you want to be unprotected.
    Select Tools | Protect Document...
Select the option to protect the document for Forms.
This will enable the Sections button. Click it, and clear the check box for each section that should be unprotected
You can specify a password if you like. If you do, you'll be asked to enter it again when you click OK.
