You can make a shortcut to Windows Explorer using the following and it will open to a full C: drive tree.

%windir%Explorer.exe /n, /e, C: ( where %windir% is the location of your windows files, usually

    C:Windows.)

Well, you've obviously got a solution that's to your liking, but keep in mind also that simply opening Windows Explorer with the Windows Key-E keyboard combination opens the usual two-pane window with the focus on "My Computer" from whence you can drill down on any drive.
