    Admin Instal v. Local Installation Source (Office 2003)

    I would like your opinions on the merits of installing Office 2003 using an administrative installation point vs. a local installation source. Is one method generally preferred over the other? We would be deploying to about 200 users.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks...

    Administrative installation point is generally prferred:

    - you have more control over installation (integrate security updates, create different transforms for different LOB groups, automate installation and updating);
    - you have more control over unauthorized installation (legal issues);
    - you have less work to implement future updates.

    This is from my experience. You can find more reasons in Microsoft publications.
