    deleted email profile (2003 )

An email profile was deleted or over written; it had dates in the calendar and tasks. Is there any way of retrieving deleted email profiles from control panel, mail.

    Thanks team

Is this a stand-alone installation of Outlook, or are you connected to an Exchange server?

Re: deleted email profile (2003 )

Check whether there is still a .pst file for the deleted profile. The .pst file contains all e-mails, appointments, contacts etc. The default location for .pst files is

    Cocuments and Settings<username>Local SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftOutlook

but the user could have stored it elsewhere, so it might be best to search the hard disk for .pst files.

Note: the Local Settings and Application Data folders are hidden, so you must display hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer to be able to see them.

    Open (or activate) Windows Explorer.
    Select Tools | Folder Options...
    Activate the View tab.
Look at the list of Advanced settings.
Make sure that the option button "Show hidden files and folders" is selected (on).
    Click OK.

An .ost file is an offline storage file that is only used if you use Microsoft Exchange - it lets the user view e-mails, appointments etc. even if the Exchange server is not available. I don't know if you can open it in a stand-alone version of Outlook, but you could try File | Open | Outlook data file, and select All files.
