Unable to view map application (IE 6)

I have a customer in Sparks NV, that is unable to see the map on a web site that is tracking the covert personal tracking device of mine that he is testing. When he called, he was using a computer with W2000. Since I have no experience in viewing these devices in 2000, I asked him to check the application on an XP machine. He did, and the results were the same. He could view most of the web application, but the map was not there, nor were the buttons that activate certain functions of the device. I had him go in an delete all cookies in case there were any corrupted ones, check to make sure that Java script was installed which it was, and also had him add the browser page to his "Trusted" zone. All of this to no avail. I suspect that there is a firewall issue here since the above remedies have usually cleared up any problems in the past. The IT person said that their firewall wasn't set tight enough that it would block this. Yes I even had him allow pop ups for that page. Ideas?
    Thanks John

    Hi John

You talk of Operating systems but are you sure that the browser version are exactly the same and service packed to the same level as the machines that work. I have applications that are service pack dependent...worth a try.

    Thanks Jerry,
No I am not sure that both Os's are updated the same. I do know that according to my client that "my laptop is up to date" without IE 7. I will have to find out about the W2K machine.
    Thanks John

Remember Java and Javascript are not the same. If you mean Java then you must have a version of a Java VM installed. Javascript support should be installed with IE 6 and must be allowed in your Internet options.

Does your app require a minimum Java version?

Have you checked the Java security settings in the Java control panel?

Problem resolved. Somehow he had entered http:// sss.com without using http://www. The server apparently didnt like this. Once that was changed the site functioned perfectly.

That should not make a difference. Anyway, glad it is resolved. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15> Thanks for posting back.
