Determining a report open mode (Access 2002 SP2)

    Hello all.,

Does anyone know if it is possible to determine from within a reports report_open whether or not a report is being opened for Preview or Print mode.

I am trying to avoid using the OpenArgs property because the code calling the reports is a bit set in stone. I have some code (related to menus) that I want to execute only if the report is being opened in Preview mode.

    Thanks in advance
    Nathan

There is no way to detemine in the On Open event of a report whether it is being previewed or printed. There is a sneaky trick to determine this in the On Print event of various sections of the report - see <post:=538,077>post 538,077</post:> where it is used to cancel actually printing a report.

    Thanks.,

What I was wanting to do, is to not run some code for menus and toolbars in report_open if the report was being printed. I have resoted to using the OpenArgs property.
