When I click on view header, "Insert AutoText" is greyed out. Why, forsooth?

According to several newsgroup threads, this usually points to a problem with your Normal.dot. Check out Phil Rabichow's <!post=Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word,197827>Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in Word<!/post>.

addendum to my own post: Could it be because I added automatic document paths to the header in the template? I can't change that field in a new document as well as in a document someone sent me with a different template.
