This may sound a dumb question - but this has happened before - what colour paper are you printing on to???? <img src=/S/beep.gif border=0 alt=beep width=15 height=15>

Well, this is usually a problem with the print cartridge. Either you've used up all your yellow, or the head is clogged. The best solution to this problem is just to replace the cartridge, although I know of some people who try to fix a clog by soaking the cartridge in hot water. I don't recommend it, though.

Will the printer print yellow when attached to another PC? If yes, then try upgrading your printer drivers from the manufacturer's web site. If not, and you have tried known good cartidges, then either throw the printer away or send it to be fixed.

    Re: Printer won't print yellow

The last time this happened to me....was when I'd peeled off the protective tape from a colour cartridge, but a very thin layer of adhesive had been left behind. This took a great deal of seeing, but once found and peeled off, the cartridge worked fine. Funnily enough, it was a yellow cartridge in my case as well.

    Re: Printer won't print yellow

This is extraordinary - I have an identical problem with our Canon BJ2000 at home - no yellow!
However, I suspect this is down to one of two things: either my wife attempted to change the cartridge and didn't fit it properly causing something to go scrunch, or my daughter attempted to change the cartridge and didn't fit it properly causing something to go scrunch.
    This always goes to show one should always <img src=/S/rtfm.gif border=0 alt=rtfm width=24 height=23>.

    Have you tried:

    Start
    Settings
    Printers
    *RightClick* Printer
    Color Management

    Is it set on automatic?
In the box, does it say "sRGB Color Space Profile"?

This is of course one of the hidden benefits of allowing other people to use your computer; you can always blame it on them when something goes wrong! <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
