Count (2003)

I have a report that lists invoice numbers. I want to put a count at the side, but this is only to change when the invoice number does.

eg
1 25361
2 25362
2 25362
2 25362
3 25363

I'm sure it's simple, but I don't know how

Original reply deleted by HansV - it was for Excel instead of Access. Will post a reply later, hopefully. Sorry for the confusion.

Try this:
- In the Sorting and Grouping window, specify the invoice number as field/expression.
- Set the Group Header property to Yes.
- Place a text box in the group header for the invoice number.
- Set its Control Source property to
=1

- Set its Running Sum property to Over Groups (or to Over All).
- Name it txtCount.
- Set its Visible property to No.
- If you don't need a group header, set the Top and Height properties of txtCount to 0, and the Height property of the group header as well.
- Place a text box in the detail section.
- Set its Control Source property to
=[txtCount]

- This text box will display the count you want.
