    Page Numbering after page 1 (XP)

    In Word you can use the following to start page numbering on page 2, 3 or later. In this particualr case it starts on page 2

    You must use CTRL+F9 to enter {}

    {IF {Page}>"1" "Page {Page} of {NumPages} " ""} can be placed in header and footer. Page numbering starts on page 2.

    Is this possible in Excel? If not what is the easiest way to have page numbering, not sheet number, begin on page 2.

    In Word it is quite simple with different first page, but I don't see this option in Excel.

    Thanks.

    Select File | Page Setup...
    Activate the Header and Footer tab.
    Click in the header or footer part where you want the page number.
    Click the page number button on the toolbar (the button with a single #).
    This will enter &[Page]
    To make page numbers start at 4 instead of 1, type +3 followed by a space after the &[Page] code.
    The space is important!
    Click OK.

    Tried your suggestion, thank you, but it does not do what I am trying to accomplish. It starts the page numbering at 2 but on the first page and the second page has 3. What I want is the number 2 to appear on the second page. The first page should have no page numbering.

    Sorry, I misread your question. See <post:=581,460>post 581,460</post:> for a way to do what you want using code.

    Thank you Hans. This does exactly what I want.
