Macros in Word 97 (Word97)

I copied the macros from my PC and then transferred them to my laptop ,both using Windows XP. Changed the folder in documents and settings to the correct name for the laptop. Then customized and dragged my letterhead macro to the tool bar. Would not work. So I recorded the new macro with a different name. Tnen again dragged it to the toolbar. Still did not work. I don't want to copy my PC normal.dot because there is some glitch and I have to open word before I select a document. Any suggestions? I have been trying this for 2 days now. When I open the new macros and debug the macro, there is nothing wrong with it. My frustration level is high!!!!
Thanks.

Hi Libbie

I am sure you have done this but have you checked the current Security Level for your macros?

Tools | Macros | Security and change to Medium.

Close down Word and re-open it again.

Never knew there was a security level. In Word 97 it is found in Tools, Options, General tab. I changed it and voila!!!! Was able to record two macros and have them work!!!

Thank you, thank you!!!
