Is it possible to obtain a directory listing such as "DIR *.*" to a specific server path without mapping to a drive letter?

I'm thinking something like: Dir MyServerFolder_1Folder_2*.*

One thing more ... the rights or permissions to the server folder have already been assigned.

A very simple experiment shows that this seems to work - is there any reason you posted the question rather than just trying it?

I did try it and was having issues (spelling or path not one of them). Try doing a directory listing of a server preferably in the folder of "MyServerdocuments & settingsYourProfileSomeFolder*.*"

This is where I receive a message about "network path not found". I think it has something to do with the "documents & settings".

Errr... Could it be because the directory name is actually "Documents and Settings"?

I was assuming that in the syntax
<code> MyServerFolder_1Folder_2*.*</code>
Folder_1 was the name of a file share!

If you need to access a random folder on the server then you can still do this, so long as you have administrative privileges on the server.

Try
<code>Dir "serverC$Documents and Settings"</code>
