    Hidden Folders

I want to create a hidden folder on my laptop. I can do this very easily on my PC, by creating a new foler, then using ALT+0160 on the keypad I can name it -, then choose a non icon from the Choose Icon in the customize area then place the folder in an area where someone would probably not see it. So! without a keypad on my laptop how would I re-name the folder to show only a - or an * since those are not allowed when re-naming?
    Thanks John

You could use the Character Map accessory to copy character 160 to the clipboard, then paste it into the file name.

BTW, doesn't your laptop have a toggle that turns part of the regular keyboard into a numeric keypad?

AHA! I did some experimenting and found the toggle right under my nose.! Never eally paid much attention to those keys. How does that old Tool Time proverb go? When all else fails read the manual?

    Re: Hidden Folders

You might take a look at this freeware program: Hide Folders. I used to have a similar program years ago and it worked great. I haven't tried this one in particular but it looks like it would do the job. I'm sure there are others akin to this one out there and Google would probably find them for you. <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15>
