    Can't Log On (XP SP2)

I have a Dell Inspiron 2200 with XP Service Pack 2. I recently updated my computer, and now cannot log on. I disabled showing my name on startup, which before was not a problem as I'm the only user, all other accounts I got rid of. Now what happens when I start the thing up is that I get the blue screen that normally says " Windows is starting..". Now it says "Please click on your user name to log in." The only bad thing is that it displays no user names, so I can't click on anything, and can't log on.

In other words, there is nothing but blue space to click on, which doesn't get me anywhere.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

    Thanks

What happens if you press Ctrl+Alt+Del several times? - I recall that brings up an alternate logon screen...
