Stilton and Apple Toastie
I am just having this tasty delight and is a rather scrumptious.
1 apple , sliced
Slices of blue cheese preferably mature blue Stilton
2 slices of bread
Toast one side of the bread. Turn over and the place a single layer of apple on the bread and then a thin layer of the cheese on top of the apple. Place under the grill until the cheese has melted and bubbled.
For harder cheeses tuen the grill down to allow slow melting so the toast does not burn
Can also be done in Breville Toasties.
A really scrummy snack where the sweetness of the apple offsets the saltiness of the cheese... <img src=/S/yum.gif border=0 alt=yum width=15 height=15>...EnjoyJerry

Re: Stilton and Apple Toastie
Sounds nice... but I'm afraid I'd end up with apples on toast, as I'd gormandize the (whole wedge of) stilton along the way.
