Right Click, cut, copy, paste, greyed out (Excel 2002)

    HI

I switched on my PC this morning opened Excel and suddenly if I select a cell or a column and right click, my cut, copy, and paste are greyed out, any ideas please.

NB Ctrl=X and Ctrl+V work OK

    Regards

Paste will be disabled initially if there is nothing to paste.
Are the Cut and Copy buttons on the Standard toolbar greyed out too? And the Cut and Copy items in the Edit menu?

    Hi Hans

I didn't get a chance to check this, I did Toolbars/Customise/Reset, and detect and repair and now everything is working.

Thanks for your assistance in this matters as ever I am grateful. I should have tried this before wasting your precious time. I apologise.

    Regards

Re: Right Click, cut, copy, paste, greyed out (Excel 2002)

    Hi Hans

It looks as if I spoke to soon, everything is back except PasteSpecial, the uncanny thng is, the same thing has occurred on my version of Excel 2003 at home. I have removed all the macros from my Personal.xls just to make sure but I still can't access PasteSpecial.

Short of re-install is there anything you could suggest please.

    Regards

Keep in mind that Paste Special, like Paste, will be disabled if there is nothing on the clipboard to paste, while Cut and Copy should always be enabled.

    Hi Hans

After following the link you posted on renaming a file with the extension xlb and reinstalling my addins one at a time appear to have solved the problem,

I have an Addin calle xlExtras this seem to be causing the problem.

    Many Thanks again
