    Comments - Cell addresses (Excel XP)

I also know I might not remember all my thinking on formulas in a worksheet. I like to include cells addresses in my comment. I know that sometimes the cell addresses in the comments don

    No, the text of a comment is just that, plain text. It might be possible to write code to update formulas in comments, but I fear that would be very complicated.

    Hi Bob,

    If you use meaningful named ranges in your formulae, that alone can make a big improvement in the formula's legibility. This will sometimes obviate the need for an explanatory comment and, even if it doesn't, using the range names in the comments means it then doesn't matter if the cell addresses change.
